Vastu Shastra

Vastu Shastra is part of Vedic scriptures and in ancient times was used to design buildings of importance e.g. temples, palaces etc. It is a science aimed at making our lives happy and successful. It has a very logical and effective approach which can heal our issues ranging from health, finances, relationships etc.

Vastu Shastra, often referred to as the “science of architecture,” provides guidelines for designing and constructing buildings in harmony with natural forces. It integrates various elements like the five basic elements (earth, water, fire, air, and space), the cardinal directions, and the energy fields to create a balanced and positive living environment. This ancient practice emphasizes the placement of rooms, doors, windows, and furniture in a way that enhances the flow of positive energy, or “Prana,” throughout the space, promoting overall well-being and prosperity.

One of the key principles of Vastu Shastra is the orientation of the building. It suggests that buildings should be aligned with the cardinal directions to harness the maximum benefits from the sun’s energy. For instance, placing the main entrance in the north or east direction is believed to attract positive energy and good fortune. Similarly, the kitchen, a source of fire element, is best placed in the southeast corner, while the master bedroom, representing earth element and stability, is ideally located in the southwest corner of the house. These placements are thought to create a harmonious and balanced living space that supports health and success.
